Hearing on Possible Increase in Water Rates – July 17

The City of Puxico will be holding a hearing on Thursday, July 17, 2025, beginning at 5:45 pm. to discuss the possibility of raising the rates for the City of Puxico’s water system. The purpose of this hearing is to give citizens of the City of Puxico a time to discuss the City’s need to raise water rates and the effect the raise would have on the citizens of Puxico.

The Board is considering raising the minimum water rate from $8.77 to $9.50, an increase of $.73 and the rate per thousand gallons used from $3.11 to $3.50, an increase of $.39 per thousand gallons. If these raises are approved, a resident’s water bill would increase a minimum of $1.12. Specifically, the increase on a resident’s bill per 1,000 gallons of water used would be
