Homecoming
Welcome Homecomers 2021!!!
Welcome Home to the 74th Annual VFW Homecoming
August 10 – 14, 2021
(Due to the pandemic, there was no Homecoming last year, so this Homecoming will be the 74th. Class reunions that should have been last year may be held this year. Please check back for further information)

Purpose of the Homecoming
The Puxico VFW Post 7822 began sponsoring the “Homecoming” in 1947 as a way to bring residents of Puxico, past and present, together. The Puxico Homecoming has become an important time of the year for many residents and former residents of Puxico. People return each year to Puxico on the second Tuesday in August to renew old acquaintances. It is truly a “coming home” for many people. The streets of Puxico are filled every year with happy people greeting old friends, reminiscing, and, in general, just having a good time. Each year the VFW has diligently planned to make the Puxico Homecoming “bigger and better”. There is something for everyone – carnival rides, beauty pageants, baby contests, square dancing, music, a church service, attendance drawings, a parade, class reunions, alumni meeting and of course the world famous goatburgers.
Please see the documents and information below for Homecoming details . . . we hope to see you on the Midway!

Homecoming Float Contest
The members of the Puxico VFW Auxiliary and People Community Bank are sponsoring a float contest in the Puxico Homecoming Parade August 14th. Prizes will be awarded as follows: $150 for first place, $100 for second place and $75 for third place.

Berry-Glenn Historical Museum
Attention Quilt Lovers and owners of quilts. Once again it is time for the Berry- Glenn Historical Museum Annual Quilt Display the week of Homecoming, Aug. 10 thru Aug. 14. The Museum will be open each one of these days to view the quilts and the Museum. If you have a quilt that you would like to have on display, please give us a call to set up a time to meet you at the museum to drop off your quilt. We are looking forward to lots of pretty, unique and/or old quilts for this annual display. The museum has many historical displays that Homecomers may view while visiting the museum or they can look through the many Puxico High School yearbooks and reminisce about the “good old days.” For information, call Shirley Linson at 573-222-3703.
